We discovered that Millennials and Gen Z were struggling to build real-life communities and connect with like-minded people. The future is about human connection and the Squad app gives those generations a way of connecting in real life, building their network, and having fun!
On the app, members have access to a variety of curated events which they can sign up for and attend. After attending event experiences, fellow attendees of those events will be unlocked in your community on the app for you to message and connect with via social media. The Squad experience mimics the way people build relationships in real life and is much more solid than seeing a pretty picture and swiping right to chat.
It is common to go to a restaurant and see people on their phones rather than having a conversation, for example. Naturally, where a problem arises, entrepreneurs move in to solve it. We were able to connect with one such entrepreneur who is building a company to create more opportunities for face-to-face interactions.
The client’s idea was to develop a fun, private, social app by the name of Squad. The basic concept behind the development of this app was “Your World of Your Friends” Build your world with your close friends. The Squad is the digital home where you and your friends talk daily.
Unlike social media, where everyone is constantly flexing for likes, the Squad is where you keep it 100% with your people—sharing the good, the messy, and everything in between.
Curate your Squad and choose who gets to know what’s going on in your world. No extra content, ads, or algorithms you didn’t ask for you. Just you and your people vibing. Through audio technology and fun habit creation, Squad keeps you in touch with your friends and feel closer together.

What the client love about this app is that users can truly connect with the closest group of friends and share vulnerable voice notes and texts with people that he/she considers in the inner circle. There’s no other social media platform where one can do something like this.
